As the good weather brings more people out onto the waters of the River Crouch, the number of shouts increases.

On Saturday 10th of June at 16:47, with winds gusting to nearly 20 Knots, volunteers of the Burnham on Crouch RNLI Lifeboat Station were called out to attend a Rigid Inflatable Boat with two people on board, which had suffered engine failure and run aground at Shore Ends. No sooner had the crew had returned when this was followed by a shout at 19:16 to go to the aid of a young person in the water. The new D class, “David and Barbara Chapman” was launched and the person safely returned to shore.

Burnham on Crouch RNLI Lifeboat management and crew advises all sailors and people who enjoy the water to visit the RNLI “Respect The Water” web page at https://rnli.org/safety/respect-the-water to ensure they are properly prepared to stay safe.
