Burnham on Crouch RNLI volunteer crew respond to call for assistance off Foulness Sands

Burnham on Crouch volunteer crew were alerted by H.M. Coastguard at 17:50 on Sunday 14th April and tasked to assist a boat enroute from Stone with two people on board having difficulty off Foulness Sands.

In response our Atlantic 85 was launched at approximately 18:10 and proceeded towards the casualty.

Upon arrival it was ascertained that the casualty boat was having navigational issues and running short on fuel.

It was decided to take the casualty under tow and continue to Burnham on Crouch marina where they arrived safely at approximately 20:45.

On returning to the station, the Atlantic was handed over to our volunteer shore crew for cleaning and preparation for its next use.
